Jacob C ""A Legacy of Healing and Play"

I’ve always been competitive and have had a love for sports from a young age. Growing up playing tennis and nearly every other sport under the sun, I didn’t expect to be drawn into pickleball. But fate had other plans. My freshman year of high school, my buddy who I played Tennis with and I won our school’s pickleball tournament. Then, my junior year, I became the first student to beat my P.E. teacher in singles – a moment that felt pretty epic at the time. However, after that, I pretty much put Pickleball on the back burner.

It wasn’t until my senior year of college when a friend invited me to play again that I rediscovered my love for the game, even though I quickly realized I wasn’t as good as I remembered! Still, something about pickleball just clicked, and I’ve been hooked ever since.

A while back, a close family member of mine, who spent his life in the drug and alcohol rehabilitation space, picked up the sport and also fell in love. We started playing together regularly with other people in our neighborhood, and his passion for pickleball inspired him to install courts at his rehab facility. Unfortunately, he passed away in a car accident, leaving behind a wife and four kids. His vision for incorporating pickleball into the rehabilitation process where people reinvent themselves was one of the driving forces behind Dink 65. Our moto became Dink 65: pickleball reinvented!

At Dink 65, we’re committed to helping people in need and blending the healing power of pickleball with the recovery process by helping people reinvent themselves. Our goal is to work with rehab centers across the country to introduce this amazing game to those who could benefit from its physical and mental benefits. It’s not just about the sport—it’s about helping people grow and heal through the game we love.
